About

The Department of Information Technology was established in Francis Xavier Engineering College in the year 2000, offering B.Tech and M.Tech programmes. The Department is committed to provide technical education in the field of Information Technology to future technocrats and software professionals through programmed teaching and hands on training with state of art implements. The mission of the department is accomplished by a commitment to the highest possible standards of quality in the areas of teaching, research, counseling and service. The Department had produced Six University I rank holders(Gold Medal) and 30 university rank holders.  The Department of Information Technology has developed into a Centre for excellence, providing opportunities for innovation and research, with well-equipped computer laboratories and dedicated faculty.

VALUE ADDED COURSES

The joint venture (MoU) with various organizations facilitates the students as well as the faculty to keep pace with the latest technologies pertaining to their chosen field of studies. We have offered plenty of value added programmes where in the students are getting trained well. The students have the option to choose the courses according to their desires and inclinations as they  choose the desired items in cafeteria. From the expertise our students gain knowledge through the value added programmes, which will enable them to face the formidable challenges of the future. MOOC ADAPTIVE LEARNING

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are free online courses available for anyone to enroll. MOOCs provide an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, advance your career and deliver quality educational experiences at scale.A massive open online course (MOOC ) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional course materials such as filmed lectures, readings, and problem sets, many MOOCs provide interactive user forums to support community interactions among students, professors, and teaching assistants (TAs).

Here learner can choose from hundreds of courses , virtually every course that is taught at the university / college / school level and these shall be offered by best of the teachers in India and elsewhere. If a student is studying in any college, he/she can transfer the credits earned by taking these courses into their academic record.

Department of Information Technology of this esteemed Institution has been in the forefront in employing modern teaching aids and methodologies to help students understand the nuances of emerging technologies and stand tall with their world-wide counterparts. The state-of-the-art Applied Labs are the forte of the Department. The Alumni Association was started in the year 2000, with the sole aim of setting up an excellent network amongst our students and our College. This will strengthen our efforts in placement, project works and Industry-Institution Interaction. It provides an opportunity that revokes nostalgia.
