Mission
1. To provide excellence through effective and qualitative teaching- learning process that equips the students with adequate knowledge and to transform the students lives by nurturing the human values to serve as a precious resource for Electronics and Communication Engineering and nation.
2. To enhance the problem solving and lifelong learning skills that will enable by edifying the students to pursue higher studies and career in research.
3. To create students with effective communication skills, the abilities to lead a ethical values in order to fulfil the social needs.
About
The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was one among the three courses offered since the inception of the institute in 4/10/2000, with an intake of 60 students. Upto the year 2001, the UG course was affiliated to M.S.University, Tirunelveli. From the year 2002 the affiliation stands permanent to Anna University, till date.
The department offers academic programmes at the Under Graduate and Post Graduate level with the state-of-the art facilities. The teaching-learning programme of the department is not only confined to conventional classroom teaching exercises but also includes the exclusive online mode, taking full advantage of the sources of study and platforms available on the internet. Even in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, it was a walk in the park for a 360 degree transition to online mode for all academic activities, without any delay.
The department has also been recognised as a centre for carrying out Ph.D. (By Research) Programme under Anna University. The department has a team of committed faculty members who are not only well qualified but are also backed by rich industrial / research / teaching experience.

The prime focus of our department is to impart quality education with a strong emphasis on converting basic science to technology, through hands on training, workshops and research in the frontiers of VLSI Design, Embedded systems, Nanotechnology, Image Processing and wireless communications. We enjoy a symbiotic relationship with many leading institutions and industries in India. As the head of the department I take immense pleasure and pride in the fact that Electronics and communication engineering is a dynamic and exciting area that provides excellent career opportunities in various areas of technology. The department faculties are committed to teach our students the fundamental concepts and the latest trends via smart teaching and learning process. The students are also taught with critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they accommodate their future with confidence. In addition to classroom teaching, the students are guided and motivated to practically implement the principles learnt in classrooms through experimentations in specialized applied laboratories and through innovation centers. The students can participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like Circuit Design, Music, Arts, and Sports etc. Department provide healthy environment to students and faculties to carry out inter department collaborative research too. I’m confident to say that all our graduates will outshine with success and accomplished career.

The department of ECE has its own IEEE student chapter branch. A number of academic activities are carried out under this association. Paper presentation, quiz contests, conferences etc are being conducted under this wing. The department has an association including all the students, through which regular inter and intra department activities are conducted which bring out the technical best in students. Symposium, Project Expo, Paper Presentation, Quiz competition, Circuit Debugging, MATLAB Debugging, Guest Lectures, FDPs, various Club activities etc are some of them.
ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
The Alumni Association was started in the year 2000, with the sole aim of setting up an excellent network amongst our students and our College. This will strengthen our efforts in placement, project works and Industry-Institution Interaction.
