Mission

1. To provide excellence through effective and qualitative teaching- learning process that equips the students with adequate knowledge and to transform the students lives by nurturing the human values to serve as a precious resource for Electronics and Communication Engineering and nation.

2. To enhance the problem solving and lifelong learning skills that will enable by edifying the students to pursue higher studies and career in research.

3. To create students with effective communication skills, the abilities to lead a ethical values in order to fulfil the social needs.

About

The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was one among the three courses offered since the inception of the institute in 4/10/2000,  with an intake of 60 students. Upto the year 2001, the UG course was affiliated to M.S.University, Tirunelveli. From the year 2002 the affiliation stands permanent to Anna University, till date.

The department offers academic programmes at the Under Graduate and Post Graduate level with the state-of-the art facilities. The teaching-learning programme of the department is not only confined to conventional classroom teaching exercises but also includes the exclusive online mode, taking full advantage of the sources of study and platforms available on the internet. Even in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, it was a walk in the park for a 360 degree transition to online mode for all academic activities, without any delay.

The department has also been recognised as a centre for carrying out Ph.D. (By Research) Programme under Anna University. The department has a team of committed faculty members who are not only well qualified but are also backed by rich industrial / research / teaching experience.

Hearty welcome to our Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering! As the head of the department I take immense pleasure and pride in the fact that Electronics and communication engineering is a dynamic and exciting area that provides excellent career opportunities in various areas of technology. The department faculties are committed to teach our students the fundamental concepts and the latest trends via smart teaching and learning process. The students are also taught with critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they accommodate their future with confidence. In addition to classroom teaching, the students are guided and motivated to practically implement the principles learnt in classrooms through experimentations in specialized applied laboratories and through innovation centers. The students can participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like Circuit Design, Music, Arts, and Sports etc. Department provide healthy environment to students and faculties to carry out inter department collaborative research too.
